Thirty Years & Counting

On January 31, 1984, President Kenneth Burns, Secretary Perley Hanson & 24 other members were issued the charter proclaiming the Deep Brook/Waldec Lions Club part of the Lions Club International (LCI).

When it comes to meeting challenges, our response is simple: We Serve.

In over 200 countries, in hospitals and senior centers, in regions battered by natural disaster, in schools and eyeglass recycling centers, Lions are doing community volunteer work, helping, leading, planning and supporting. Because we’re local, we can serve the unique needs of the communities we live in.

And because we’re global, we can address challenges that go beyond borders.

About

Our Mission

The Deep Brook / Waldec Lions Club has been serving its community since its inception in 1984. The Lions are your friends and neighbors volunteering to help the visually impaired as well as reaching out to those Deep Brook / Waldec residents who are underprivileged or in need of our help.

What We Do

Our club has recently donated $500.00 to Breast Cancer and $500.00 to the Kidney Foundation.

img_lionsvolunteerfemaleWhere There’s a NEED, There’s a LION

Whenever a Lions club gets together, problems get smaller. And communities get better. That’s because we help where help is needed – in our own communities and around the world – with unmatched integrity and energy.

The World’s Largest Service Club Organization

Our 46,000 clubs and 1.4+ million members make us the world’s largest service club organization. We’re also one of the most effective. Our members do whatever is needed to help their local communities. Everywhere we work, we make friends. With children who need eyeglasses, with seniors who don’t have enough to eat and with people we may never meet.

Around the world, Lions are serving their communities through vision projects, youth engagement, services for children, health initiatives, disaster relief and more. Where there’s a NEED, there’s a LION in your COMMUNITY and around the WORLD.

Every club needs members in order to achieve its service goals. New members provide clubs with fresh ideas, new projects and additional ways to make a difference in the community.

Just imagine if every Lion, 1.4 million, asked one person to join their club … now imagine how much more Lions could do and how many more people they could serve!

All it takes is asking one person … get started today!
